Imperial Valley
Workers’ Resource Organizing Center
In August 2025, the UCSD Labor Center opened a satellite office in the Imperial Valley to incubate the Workers’ Resource Organizing Center. Located at 497 W. Wall Road, Suite A, Imperial, CA 92251, this center aims to inform and support workers in the Imperial Valley community. It also seeks to create educational opportunities and foster collaboration among labor groups, community organizations, and local government to improve the quality of life for all residents of Imperial County.
The Political Profile of Imperial
The Political Profile of Imperial was created by the UC San Diego Labor Center to make local government more accessible and easier to understand. Too often, residents have to navigate complex systems just to find out who represents them, what boards and commissions exist, or how local decisions are made.
This resource brings that information together in one place. It outlines the structure of local government, identifies elected officials and key decision-making bodies, and explains how residents can participate in the civic process. By removing barriers to information, we hope to make civic engagement more accessible and empower community members to advocate for the issues that matter most to them.
