Labor Summer Fellows

In 2023, our inaugural cohort of Labor Summer fellows worked with San Diego local labor unions to complete projects at the intersection of social justice and workers' rights. Fellows also participated in skill and community-building activities throughout the summer, including a 3-day opening retreat at UCLA and a UC-wide graduation at UC Berkeley.

In 2024, we expanded our program to students in Imperial County. 14 fellows trained with labor unions and worker organizations across the border region, championing their leadership as the future of the labor movement. Post-fellowship, many of our fellows continue to work in the labor movement, fighting for economic justice in San Diego, Imperial Valley, and beyond.
